Ferdinand M. Negre
Mr. Negre teaches intellectual property courses including copyright law and intellectual property enforcement in Ateneo Law School. He has been lecturing on various intellectual property subjects in different universities, government agencies and private organizations. He also lectures in workshops for lawyers as part of the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education required by the Supreme Court and in workshops for judges conducted by the Intellectual Property Office. He is a member of the Supreme Court Sub-Committee that prepared the Special Rules of Procedure on IPR Cases which Rules were approved by the Supreme Court En Banc on October 18, 2011. He is a founding partner of Bengzon Negre Untalan Intellectual Property Attorneys (BNU) based in Makati, Philippines. BNU is the only law office in the Philippines focused exclusively on intellectual property law practice. Mr. Negre is a Trustee and the President of the Licensing Executives Society of the Philippines. He is also a Founding Trustee and Vice-President of the Intellectual Property Professors and Researchers Organization of the Philippines, Inc. He is the Corporate Secretary of the Philippine Franchise Association and Corporate Counsel of the Philippine Retailers Association. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Philippine Bar Association, and the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines. He worked with the then Bureau of Patents, Trademarks & Technology Transfer (now called the Intellectual Property Office) for five years, first as a Trademark Examiner and then as a Hearing Officer. He also worked as a Hearing Officer at the Bureau of Trade Regulation and Consumer Protection of the Department of Trade and Industry. He is a Certified Public Accountant and worked as an Auditor at SGV & Co. before taking up legal studies. |
