BNU Partner is new LESP President

On June 24, 2011, Ferdinand Negre assumed his post as president of the Licensing Executives Society Philippines or LESP. LESP is a member society of LES International or LESI. LESI is composed of professionals from different backgrounds who are engaged in licensing and transfer of technology, industrial and intellectual property rights. Key activities are education, mentoring and networking. LESI is committed to the advancement of the business of intellectual property globally. LESP members receive the quarterly journal Les Nouvelles, which contains scholarly articles on licensing as practiced in different countries.

On July 11, 2011, LESP successfully held its first activity, the Forum on Valuation, with no less than the LESI President, Mr. Alan Lewis, as the main speaker. Ms. Merlita Opeña of the Department of Science and Technology talked about the Technology Transfer Act of 2009. The Director General of IPO Philippines, Atty. Ricardo Blancaflor, delivered the welcome address before the 70 participants including officers and executives from San Miguel Group, Pascual Laboratories, Jollibee Corporation, RFM, the academe and the research and development community.
